Steps to protect the folder with password:

1. Open the Notepad: Search in the Start Menu and click on Notepad. Choose a ‘New text document’.

2. Copy the Code: Copy, paste the below code into the text document on the notepad. Make sure you copy the entire code without any mistake.

3. Edit Folder Name & Password: Please adjust or edit the locked folder’s name in the text which you have copied in the notepad. Also, provide the password to unlock the folder. The default folder name is “Private” and the default password is “wonderhowto.” So, edit the default and give with the ones you want to save them as.

4. Save The Batch File: Save the folder name and password as you want them to be. But, please make sure the name ends in “.bat” and that you select “All files” in the drop-down box when you try to save it. Be careful and adjust the save location accordingly. By keeping in mind that the notepad might have been automatically edited it if you opened Notepad directly rather than using the right-click, make necessary changes.

5. Create a Folder: Double click on the batch file you just created or just press enter while selecting the batch folder. A new folder is created now.

6. Add Files: You can add the files you want to protect using the password to this batch folder. You can always add or remove the folders from the batch folder.

7. Lock the Folder: Once you are set, after adding the files to the batch folder, simply double-click on the batch file (or select and hit Enter), then choose ‘y’ on the window that pops up and hit Enter. You’ll notice that your folder has now disappeared or not visible. Hence, your folder has been protected with a password.

8. Access Your Hidden & Locked Folder: You can just hit ‘enter’ while selecting the batch folder and give your password to access the hidden folders. You can even double click on the batch folder and give your password whenever you want to access the hidden folders.
